Windows 7
October 22nd, 2009 under Uncategorized. [ Comments: none ]

I am getting a new computer today and it will have Windows 7 on it. I am excited to be getting a new PC, and kinda excited about Win 7. The last PC I had has served me well the last 6 or 7 years. It has had a new motherboard and RAM during that time, but has never had an O/S reinstall, which in my book is a big success. It will be my first experience in 64-bit land. It will also the first time I have bought a PC instead of building it.

Let’s hope I am not disappointed with the usual Microsoft crap that happens, like what has been happening with my computer at work. At work today it updated Windows Media from version 9 to 11. I usually always say no to WM updates because I never use it. I finally said ok. As usual, I install it, reboot then my computer needs 5 patches and security updates for the newly installed WM11. That stuff drives me crazy at work. Now I have to reboot twice.

Japanese Humor

Japanese have a great sense of physical humor at the expense of others. I love the show MXC which is all about people eating dirt. This prank is on a Japanese comedian, who gets pranked several times.

80 MPH is the new 40 MPH

I remember last year when I first started riding that 40 MPH felt pretty fast on the bike. Yesterday I was riding home for lunch and traffic was flying at 75 MPH and so was I and I had no qualms about it. It felt perfectly comfortable and relaxed. The only thing that isn’t comfortable is the amount of wind resistance on your helmet and shoulders when you are not tucked below the windshield.

I think it may be time for a track day since the weather is cooling down and really push it.

I agree, most work can be made better by making it fun.
